The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

Czechs protest plans to build mosque

8/6/2004, 10:39 a.m. ET
The Associated Press

PRAGUE, Czech Republic (AP) — Investors canceled plans to build a mosque in a Czech spa after residents protested, saying they feared a terrorist attack, the mayor said Friday.

A firm representing Dubai investors withdrew from the project earlier this week, said Jaroslav Kubera, the mayor of Teplice, 50 miles northwest of Prague.

Kubera said plans to build the mosque and a hotel were scrapped after some 5,000 citizens signed a petition, protesting construction of the mosque. They claimed it could attract terrorists, the mayor said.

The mosque and the hotel were designed to serve some of several thousands of Muslims from many countries who come to Teplice for treatment of arthritis and related joint diseases each summer.

Kubera said the city has not had negative experience with patients from the Muslim countries so far.

In the Czech Republic, mosques have already been built in the capital, Prague, and in the second largest city, Brno.

There is a Mile High Stadium in Denver.

Just a feeling that we should be looking at exactly that. Buildings or bridges with "mile" as a part of their name.

Pakistani Helped Net Al Qaeda Comrades in Sting -Source

Aug. 6, 2004 — ISLAMABAD (Reuters) - Al Qaeda member Mohammad Naeem Noor Khan emailed contacts in Osama bin Laden's network while in custody as part of a sting operation by security agencies, a Pakistani intelligence source said Friday.

A series of arrests in Britain this week resulted from Khan's capture. A high alert for U.S. financial institutions against a possible al Qaeda attack was also attributed to information gathered from the Pakistani computer engineer, who was caught early last month, according to intelligence and government sources.

Thanks for the info. Will certainly take it to heart coming from you. Did you tell him/her about TM?

I had a dream last night that the RNC convention in NY was canceled at the last minute and brought to Chicago....

There is NO building in Chicago called One Mile High.

That was a "futuristic" drawing only by Frank Lloyd Wright. ;-)

Just read back on the threads and someone had posted every idea I had. You folks are way ahead of the curve! Two bows could be a double bridge. Or one like Golden Gate that sort of has two peaks doesn't it/or other ones.

This is more diabolical than anything one could think up. They are going after an icon of western capitolism. They are going after.....

Agreed. I hate to say it, but 2 sounds for "realistic" than 20.

No, it was really a very short, chance encounter. I think what struck me was the way this person's expression fell when I asked about the seriousness of the threats... I would not have expected this person to bring up suitcase nukes, either. I always thing "tin foil" when I see that on the web, but really, how many roadsigns do we have to look at before we realize what direction we're going in?

I think prior to this meeting, I would have given a 20% possibility of the suitcase nuke angle. I would say I'm up to 40% (and rising) convinced that this is for real...

What struck me, though was this person's insistence that Bush couldn't care less about the election -- not because he doesn't want to be re-elected, but that he would assuredly risk re-election by doing the right thing by issuing terror warning he knows may not come to pass.

President Bush is a good GOOD man. Don't let anyone ever tell you differently....

CBS reported today that the feds are a bit worried because Al Queda chatter is about zero after it was going crazy a few weeks ago.

I'd be concerned too, however it would not be unexpected now that info is out that we have caught AQ's key Crypto man, they may be having to resort to other means until they can re secure their comms.

"Magnificent Mile" is the mile long stretch of Michigan Avenue where the exclusive shopping district is.

I agree 100%. I can't understand the intense hatred that so many have for him.

There must have been three suitcase nukes if you count the one that we secretly detonated off the east coast two weeks ago. You know, the one that produced the earthquake like seismic reading and almost wiped out a single spieces of fish. (I couldn't resist.) BTW, Rutles, the info you provided seems a lot more plausible then some of the other rumors floating around the Net, and the fact that you have nothing to sell gives what you've said a bit of credibility despite the cautious disclaimer.
