Alternatives?Eliminate the corporate income tax and simplify the current individual income tax. Add unrestricted, tax-free savings/investment accounts and you have a consumption tax (consumption is just income minus savings) without the give-away of the family consumption allowance or the economic and enforcement issues with a state collected NRST.
