In the long run it always seemed that I only worked nights to generate a huge tax bill. My business ventures created attractive gross figures, but what was left for ME made ambition seem foolish and in the end I made far less being self-motivated than for being just another hamster on the wheel at my day job. Why bother?
I'll bust my rump working to better myself if I can really feel as if I DO better myself.
These are the seeds of prosperity, and everything the left hates.
Nice post -- and I agree with you 100%. My vocation as pastor makes me self-employed for the purposes of Social Security and an employee for the purposes of Federal/State income taxes.
Last year was the first year that I filed under this system after moving from the public sector. I about fell over when I got my prepared tax returns -- all of my student loans that I had planned on paying off before the anticipated date are back on the long-term schedule solely because of the burden of Social Security.
I wouldn't be self-employed if it wasn't necessary to make my living.
