WHITE HOUSE ANGER AT HOLLYWOOD ELECTION SURPRISE: PARAMOUNT PUPPET MOVIE MOCKS TERROR WAR
The Drudge Report ^ | August 01, 2004 | Matt Drudge

A new film set for release from PARAMOUNT has raised the pop culture threat levels at the White House -- a film which mocks the war on terror and media urgency using puppets, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

"I really do not think terrorism is funny, and I would suggest PARAMOUNT give respect to those fighting and sacrificing to keep America safe," a senior Bush adviser told the DRUDGE REPORT this weekend.

The new fuss film TEAM AMERICA, set for release two weeks before the November presidential election, is entering post-production from with SOUTH PARK creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone

A deep voice using serious tones opens the film's teaser: "We live in a time of unparalleled danger. Weapons of Mass Destruction are being offered to terrorists all over the world. Global chaos is about to consume every country on Earth. And there is only one hope for humanity."

The senior Bush adviser, who asked not to be named, fumed after seeing the movie's official website and trailer.

"This is just unconscionable. Not funny. And I believe it makes fun of everyone in law enforcement... and in the armed services who work tirelessly to keep us safe from harm."

Marionette puppets are used throughout the film to mock terror threats, and media figures who dominate the nation's airwaves.

Phantom Lord is right O.C. These younger conservatives are a bit irreverant and a little more tolerant, but they are your grandkids, and they know right from wrong. We can gently guide them yet a little while, and when it's time, they will carry the baton and make you proud.

This criticism is silly. From what I've heard this film SKEWERS the anti-war Left.

If you haven't seen previous or trailors of the film, I wouldn't be commenting on it. You just may have to eat your own words. ~[;>)>

I'm not shocked. Being shocked is for women and effeminate males.

Tell you what. I'll wait until the movie comes out and then attack it again. But the South Park punks are 100% pure punk.

I thought the trailer for this looked hilarious!

Of course those without a sense of humor on either side will be offended, but they often are.

Sometimes South Park gets pretty vulgar. I'll watch it late night to screen them for my kids. I allow them to watch Barbra Streisand as Godzilla.

Old Cracker knows his effeminate males.

That is why he has to register with every county he moves into.

They probably aren't real Republicans, probably more like libertarians.... but I get a lot of enjoyment out of their stuff, and it seems more often than not, they comes down on our side.

Us South Park Republicans might be punks (hell, I used to have purple hair!), but we are a large part of President Bush's base and a good portion of his vocal supporters.

Who is going to have a better shot of getting a 18-35 year old to vote for Bush, you, or a 30 something with tattoos and piercings?

I am so there. Our family used to go to the movies practically once per week

I refuse to go to the movies .. in fact my middle daughter was mad at me today because I would not take them all to the Harry Potter movie

I gave them the video camera and told them to make their own

And you know what ... they had a blast with their friends doing making it

These South Park punks have also mocked Jesus Christ.

No they didn't, he always wins.

I seriously hope this is the case. I could just be that somebody at the White House doesn't get it.

thats my bush wasnt anti bush it was a parody of bad sitcoms.

I know, but a lot of people who reflexivly dislike Trey and Matt point to Thats My Bush as evidence that they are anti-Bush. Yet virtually none of them know how and why the show came about or that it would have been about Gore had he won.

Whoever the guy was that played Bush did the best impression of him I have ever seen. No late night comedian, MAD TV, or SNL person has come close to getting him right yet.
