I won't guess your meaning about the parents. The parents did not know the guys last name. Only Jack and the license number. It was the CDA police that found out more about him. The delay here was because the parents were sure this guy just made a mistake, missed the turn off, and would be back with them. Or at least that is what the police are saying. I noticed he is in the same shirt, but that might of been his favorite shirt. I know my granddaughter has favorties and wears them continueously.

The focus here now is to get these kids back - to pray - and try and get the media to cover this story in this very busy news time.

2nd vehicle separated from group: Black 1992 Ford Explorer, Idaho lic #1AGB768, has white colored hood. This vehicle was separated from the family of the two missing children in Cd'A on 07/29/04. If located notify Central Dispatch, 769-2320 or 769-2321 Kootenai County Dispatch Center.

Update information on child abduction: Coeur d’Alene police have received several tips throughout the night from citizens who believe they spotted the stolen vehicle containing four year old Tatiana Siebert and five year old Ford Ward. We have contacted several other agencies and are asking them to assist in this investigation. Those agencies include the FBI the State Parks Service, the Forest Service and surrounding law enforcement agencies.

The Amber Alert is in Idaho only at this time. Detectives are in the process of requesting Amber Alerts nationally. This has to be done state by state and has to meet each states established criteria.

Detectives have developed more information on the suspect and his past mode of operation. Suspect John “Jack” Thompson is wanted out of Pascagula County Mississippi for an embezzlement charge, he has two warrants out of Colorado Springs Colorado for theft and a stolen vehicle, a warrant out of Kingman Arizona for theft, and is currently driving a stolen vehicle out of Louisiana. Jack is known to be paranoid of the police and has stated in the past that he has a 45 caliber hand gun. He has lived in campgrounds throughout the United States most of his adult life. The suspect likes to hook up with religious groups. He also looks for work as a cook in small out of the way restaurants. He sometimes uses the name John Evans as an alias. He likes to gamble and is known to frequent casinos.

Detectives are in the process of developing more resources to assist with this case. Attached to this release is a photo of the suspect that was taken approximately a year ago. In the photo he has a beard. He is clean shaven at this time. Anyone with information on the location of the children and the suspect is asked to contact the Coeur d’Alene Police Department through the 911 dispatch center.

Child Abduction Coeur d’Alene Police are investigating the abduction of a four-year-old female by the name of Tatiana Seibert, and a five-year-old boy by the name of Ford Ware. Both children have been living with their parents in the area of the North Fork River. The children are cousins, the family is transients. Three weeks ago the family met a white male by the name of John Mark Thompson who goes by the name “Jack”. Jack told the family he is an ordained minister. Jack is also a transient.

On 072904 at 5:00p.m., the children’s parents contacted Coeur d’Alene Police and said they were driving in their vehicle toward Coeur d’Alene when they became separated in traffic from Jack and his vehicle. The mothers of the children JenniferAnderson and Yvonne Siebert said they allowed their children to ride to Coeur d’Alene with Jack while they rode in another vehicle. The final destination was to be somewhere near Sandpoint Idaho where they would camp in the woods. The mothers did not know the last name of Jack or where he was from. Officers searched the Coeur d’Alene area and did not locate him. The mothers advised they would be driving to Sandpoint and would notify us when they made contact with Jack.

On this date the parents re-contacted Coeur d’Alene Police and stated they have still not made contact with Jack. They were able to provide a vehicle description and license plate number to the vehicle. Officers ran the plate through NCIC and discovered the vehicle is stolen out of Louisiana. Detectives contacted the vehicle owner by telephone and were provided with the suspect information. John “Jack” Thompson is wanted in five states and is believed to be the suspect driving the stolen vehicle.

Attached to this press release are photos of the two children. A mug shot of the suspect has been requested and will be sent out when it is obtained. John “Jack” Mark Thompson is described as 6’, 155lbs, brown hair, brown eyes, 56 years of age, balding on top of his head, and clean-shaven. He wears a cross necklace, and glasses to read with. He is driving a 1996 Lincoln Town car, gold in color with Louisiana plates JFP027. The front license plate of the vehicle has a Disney monogram. The left taillight is broken and covered with red tape.

Tatiana Seibert is a four-year-old white female, 2’6” tall, 35 lbs., blue eyes, blonde hair, she has a black left eye from a recent injury, she is wearing a purple and white tank top, and blue jean shorts.

Ford Ware is five-year-old male, 4’ tall, 50 lbs, brown eyes, blonde hair in a buzz cut, wearing a black shirt with yellow writing, and shorts. An Amber Alert has been issued. Anyone with information on the exact location of these children is asked to call Coeur d’Alene Police through the 911 dispatch center.

Child Abduction 7-31-04 Update Detectives are attempting to locate and check the welfare of the parents of abducted child Ford Ware (not Ward). Jennifer Anderson and Les Ward were following suspect John “Jack” Thompson’s vehicle eastbound 1-90 approaching Coeur d’Alene when Thompson motioned them to pass him and a semi he was following. Anderson and Ward passed him and Thompson failed to get off at the exit they had earlier agreed upon. Thompson kept going east on I-90. Family members that were in a separate vehicle said Anderson and Ward got off at the same exit as they did and immediately realized Thompson did not. They turned around after waiting for him for a few minutes and went after Thompson.

Anderson and Ward have not been heard from since. They are driving a 1991 black Ford Explorer with Idaho plates of lA GB768. The vehicle has a white hood, a cracked windshield and the driver’s side headlight area is smashed in.

Jennifer L. Anderson is described as 21 years of age, 5’5, 135 lbs, long brown hair, and she has numerous tattoos.

Les Ward is described as 24 years of age, 5’9, 150 lbs, sandy blond hair, and numerous tattoos.

Additional information provided to detectives is that three children are in the black Ford Explorer license plate number IAGB768. The children are Cheyenne Ward, three years of age, Daniel Joseph Ward, 4 months of age. Both are the children of Jennifer Anderson and Les Ward.

Another child in the vehicle is five year old Dale Wayne. He is the child of Yvonne Siebert who is also the mother of missing child Tatiana Siebert. Yvonne Siebert is a sister to Jennifer Anderson. She is currently cooperating with the Coeur d’Alene Police detectives as well as is her mother Brenda Moore who is the grandmother to the missing children.

Coeur d’Alene Police detectives have obtained a $500,000 warrant for the arrest of John “Jack” Marc Thompson for two counts of 2nd degree kidnapping.

Tips are continuing to come in due to the Amber Alert. Detectives from several agencies are following up on those tips.

Anyone with information as to the location of Jennifer Anderson, Les Ward and the three children are asked to call the Coeur d’Alene Police Department through the 911 Dispatch Center at 664-1515.

Reply #103 has alot more suspect info from the CDA police site. One set of parents with 3 more kids in the car ranging in age from 8 months to 3 years took off immediately after they realized he missed the turn off to try and catch him - they also have not been heard from since. They are looking for 2nd vehicle with the parents of one child looking for him. This "Jack" is armed.

Another upsetting part of this is the Amber Alert is only in Idaho! They have to contact each state nationwide and go through the criteria of that state to get it anywhere else. I guess they are going through those steps now. There is only about 2 hours of I-90 from border to border here so this is doing little good.

I've never heard of describing an arrest warrant by monetary value before. Does that mean that bail will be set at half a mil if they catch the guy?

This is scary. You would think the family pursueing him would call in if they were alright. I don't understand why the media is not picking it up. I couldn't even find it on the Spokesman Review web site this morning. Throw away kids?????? Maybe we are the only ones interested! Well I have to get ready for church will check back when I get home.

That is how I took it. Seems strange too - but this is Idaho! But at least we have an Amber Alert system.

I figured it was either that or the reward to be paid to the individual(s) who turn in the fugitive.

And yes, the Amber Alert program is a good thing.

I just heard an interview from the Mom of the girl. There are now 7 members of her family missing. Her sister and her husband took off in pursuit of the suspect minutes after he took off with the kids. They did have 3 kids in the car. 2 or their own and one of this Mom. They have not been heard from since. She said it is not like them not to contact them. She actually interviewed very well. The police are now concerned for the safety of the parents and the other children as well. They do not have her video up yet but they have a video up from yesterday.
