TOWN OF NEWBURGH, N.Y., July 31 -- John and Elizabeth Edwards celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary today, and they and this small upstate town will not soon forget it.
The John Kerry campaign pulled its 10-bus caravan up to Wendy's restaurant to accommodate the vice presidential couple, who had their first date at the fast-food restaurant and always dine there on their anniversary . This is not one they will soon forget because the celebration included John and Teresa Heinz Kerry, Tom Brokaw, George Stephanopoulos, and 100 members of the media.
"So you understand, this is our anniversary. We always celebrate our anniversary at Wendy's," Elizabeth Edwards told the clerk as she ordered her Classic Combo Single.
Ditto for her mate -- but he went with cheese. And John Kerry went for the Chili and chocolate frosty. The power couples certainly caused a stir -- but it was Ben Affleck who moved with a throng. A Democrat and friend of Kerry's, the movie actor said he joined the trip to learn about the political process and not always be around just for the glamorous work.

That fairy Kerry looks to have had his fingernails manicured!!! What a pufta he is. Pompous pric*.
Yo, Registered! Cleanup at Wendys!
Ever wondered why Edwards has claw marks on his back?
Check out those "GIRLIE-MAN" fingernails
I hear he won't allow the secret service to speak to him or take pictures with him. Looks like the people sitting to his left got that order as well! Totally ignoring him! I love it! LOL!!
Didn't they celebrate the anniversary last week at Wendy's? What did dufus want him to do it over so he could be in the pictures this time.
Someone has to find out if Wendy's serves DEL MONTE ketchup!
Semper Fi
The better to take your money!
He's ugly, has long nails and holds that soda like he's got an Ethiopia Yergacheffe latte at Starbucks.
A caption for the one where he looks like he's praying--a pose we seem to see him in often:
Hello, God, this is me, John. Can I ask a favor? Can my loss next November be not overly humiliating for me? Thanks.
I was hoping for in the bunny suit while saluting at the convention podium.
No, Elizabeth, that's MY fries.
Well, now we know the Wendy's story :-).
D
"What long fingernails Mr. Kerry has!"
Since you posted it first I noticed that to. But the long finger nails are only long on one hand. Whats up with that?
My personal taste, I can't stand men with purchased service manicured finger nails. I know, I'm being nit picky but it's so unmanly to me. ewwww It shows me the man is too above picking up a tool in the garage or whatever. Soft plush hands on a man (lazy) grosses me out.
No kidding! And these restaurants likely aren't created to accomidate that kind of FIRE HAZARD crowd. Most that I've noticed, top out in the 70ish patron range.
Wendy's actually serves HEINZ ketchup.........
I know this because I brought home some Wendy's yesterday and I just saw the packet on the counter.......
