Sure, lots of people would like flex time, but that is not up to the government to legislate. Not its purpose.


You know in general I would agree with this and in part still do. I am torn though because of the importance this may have in maintaining families. In my experience the less time kids are in day care and the more they are with parents the better they (and be extention society) is. Me an my wife have a "flex" schedule and we have almost no need for day care which is a huge bonus for our family. Of course some careers are more amenable than others.

That being said you raise a very valid and important point which needs to be considered. I guess I'm torn a bit.

Appreciate your points Doc, but you and your wife probably chose your jobs with flex time being a high priority. That is the way it is supposed to work. Government should have no role in that process.
