Why? Kerry is a Senator. President Bush has class, that's what separates him from the Rats.
No, it's an excellent idea. Why mention Kerry by name? By calling him senator, Bush diminishes Kerry's stature since he's the President.
People will be reminded that Kerry is just a face out of 100.

I disagree, what do people think of when you say "Senator from Massachusetts"? One word, Liberal. Ok, some may think of Ted Kennedy (although that connection is also desired) but for the most part people in MO are going to be thinking East Coast, Elitist, Liberal. It is very much on purpose he is using this pharase.
