I think Mariah's problem was getting caught up in trying to hang with all of those thug rappers at 4 in the morning to stay 'relevant' and at the same time trying to care for her sister who has HIV.

That and the fact that her recording career was pretty much backed up by her sisters hooking money when she started in the business. It doesnt surprise me that Mariah needed some 'time alone' to relax at the happy house.
