I have watched every convention since 1960 (except 1968 when I was living overseas) and I cannot remember any convention of either party being so disjointed and just plain boring.
Nothing makes any sense. The music doesn't inspire, the speakers are apparently chosen at random, odd comments from private citizens are interspersed with recorded quotes from dead democrats, and the photo-ops are obviously staged and uninspiring. I can only conclude that Bob Shrum is working his magic once again.

You started watching when you were three? ;-)

Thank you. That's how it has been striking me, too.

I started listening in 1956 when I was 12 years old. What's funny is my parents aren't interested in politics at all, so I'm not sure where my interest came from. BTW, I liked Adlai Stevenson. Don't tell anyone.:-)

I couldn't agree more!
I was a bitty girl, but I remember the clips,on the news, from the Stevenson Convention and that one wasn't as bad.But their campaign literature was. They kept saying that Mamie Eisenhower was a closet DRUNK.That WAS a dirty campaign and the Dems have NOT changed...just gotten worse.

What's your opinion of this current convention stacked up against other conventions?

(You hear all the time, "Be more like Jesus." But have you ever heard, "Be more like Muhammed"?)
