The problem is, we will never NOT be at war. We are at war with a tactic, and that means we can never be at peace.
When we fought the Nazis, we were at war with the NAZIS, not with the military concept of combined arms (aka Blitzkrieg).
When we fought the Japanese, we fought the EMPIRE OF JAPAN, not the military technique of kamakaze pilots.
To fight against a tactic -- in this case, terrorism -- is to fight an enemy that can never truly be defeated. That means we will always be at war. That means the deprivations and abrogations of the Constitution need never be rolled back.
We are seeing some of the results today. America, as it was, will never be again -- we are spinning into a totalitarian state most reminiscient of East Germany than anything else: Brutal, information-intensive, and efficient.
Bump for a sound point.
I've been thinking the very same thing for a while now. When we eliminate Osama's merry bunch, there will be another group using terror tactics, and when we defeat them...
bttt
The results of liberlism. I can tolerate free speech until it becomes head bashing speech. And that's where the 2nd ammendment comes in. Free speech is both protected by, as well as kept in check, with this ammendment.
All of today's 'unpoliteness' is the direct result of liberal attacks on our ability to carry iron. And as usual, the State steps in with a 'solution' to what ails us by filling the power vacuum with 'free speech zones'.
Agreed Laz. See my sig.
