Thanks for the link MamaD. There is no way you could get me to go to the Olympics. I'll stay right here in my little spot o' America.

There was a poster a few months back (Rushmore Rocks I believe) who mentioned that her husband was flying home from a business trip and the person sitting next to him stated the security in Greece was woefully lacking and would not be up to speed by the time the games begin. I don't remember the details.

I'm sure Greece is a beautiful place. My oldest son has always wanted to visit there. By what I've read and seen on TM, IMHO they are far from ready for the Olympics. Power and telephone outages (10 HOURS in Athens) is clearly a sign that caution and prayers are needed in protecting the athletes of the world who will be participating.

Yes, that was I who told about my husband's trip back from Greece.

In brief, he sat next to a man who was in charge of a portion of the U.S. security detail for the Olympics. His main concern was water access. Apparently monitoring devices were implaced in the Saronic Gulf (?).....the government complained about them, said the cruise ships and cargo ships would ignore the buoys, or tear them out and the monitoring devices would be useless. This man was also concerned about electricity continuity, cell phone and internet disruption, and many other concerns. (some of which we have witnessed already)

This agent said they were having a really big problem with the Greece government.

Bottom line.......they won't be ready.
