As the resident geologist, I'll evaluate the data further and let everyone know my opinion.
Hey we have newbies on TM who need summaries ...Zilla your one of the best please? -g-
Great! Thanks. I am interested to see what someone with knowledge has to say.
I'll make a cup of tea and check back in a few minutes.
I'll try to get one posted this evening. Had some kind of crud this weekend, didn't even the the computer turned on.
>>it would be hidden from mariners out on the water at that time.
If taken out far enough, into the deep, beyond Georges Bank and into the area where the ocean bottom drops off deep, perhaps nothing, if away from shipping lanes.
Oh, good! I was trying to recall who our resident geologist was! Looking forward to your report.
Did the emergency broadcasting system change their protocol without telling me. This is the second time today that the emergency tone just broke into programming with out announcing a test and then finishes by just cutting back to the program.
True, but if they only had 't-90 minutes' I have to wonder how far out they could have gotten it. I guess it depends no what type of vehicle would be used (boat/helicopter/plane). Obviously a boat would not get far, so that would not be the ideal choice.
I sure would not want to have that job. ;-)
I hate when that happens. Where are you, bored?

Deadly containers found near lake (Del Rio)
Two cylinders of deadly chlorine gas stolen from the city were recovered without incident near Lake Amistad Sunday afternoon.
A Del Rio man who often fishes at the lake spotted the two silver-colored cylinders along old Highway 277 north of Del Rio about 4 p.m. Sunday. The 4-foot-long cylinders were lying on their sides about 20 feet from the road, which now leads to a picnic area and a public fishing dock in the Amistad National Recreation Area just south of the lake.(snip)
