Just Damn! I hope its not a nuke warhead. Could cause a tidal wave even if detonated in open waters. Ship master is refusing the coast guard boarding.
I'm confused. "Ship Master" notified Coast Guard of bomb. "Captain" won't allow boarding. What is the difference between the two titles/positions on board a ship? I'm a landlubber, so I am ignorant of the differences. TIA.

Actually it wouldn't. Many of our nuclear tests in Pacific during the late 50's and early 60's were done with a barge carrying the device out to sea for detonation. (The reason why is because we had done so many high yield tests that we were literally vaporizing the islands and running out of real estate.) If you watch the videos of these tests, you'll see that all it does is create a shock wave with a small amount of water being pushed in front of it. Once the shock wave dissipates, so does the wave.
