The families will work to see the recommendations implemented. Whoever believes that structural reform will prevent another attack is a moron.

I agree, you need the competition not everyone reporting to one guy. However, it would be nice if they talked to each other. I think placing too much power in one man is a mistake and we really shouldn't go there. Having "oversight" is one thing, making sure that the information is shared is important, but having one man in charge of all that is a mistake.
Without the competition, how would we ever know what is going on if we got someone bad in there?

Friendly spirited competitionCapitalism, baby :)
But you're right of course. Too many chiefs and not enough indians. But that's been the problem for a very long time.

And I'm just as sure they won't be happy with what the commission found.Oh yeah, I think we already know that Kristen and her little Jersey coven have decided that the report is a whitewash of the Bush Admin. without even reading it. I heard Richard Clarke on this radio this morning esentially saying this very thing. That will be the initial spin.

And how much did it cost us taxpapers for them to come up with this Book? IIRC 15 million!

Berger will go to jail, I predict. It seemed obvious to me at first, but the way this thing is being spun... I don't know. He may get away with it. The courts are already stacked. Too many in government are jaw-droppingly corrupt. I sometimes can't even wrap my head around it.

Actually Chris Cox said in the WSJ, that the timing of the release was delayed for two reasons, one prevent congress from taking any action on the findings, before the end of this term (thus giving Bush credit for action) and also to maximize the press for the book tour.

"WASHINGTON The United States needs a new national intelligence director who has oversight over all of the nation's intelligence agencies, the independent commission investigating the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks recommends in its report to be released Thursday." And if it's vital to national security, then it's somehting the demonrats will see as bad and funding will have to be cut!

Well, these lefties talk down about the people in the South. Well, in this case, I probably read more than any of them. They get their news from the 3 blind mice and that is not a put down on Blind people. It's just that they think they know what is better for us than we do. What a joke all of this has turned out to be. If they think this is going to get some of us to change our vote, then they are dead wrong! Ok! Enough of my lecture!

Kirsten's life is over today; this is all she lived for -- blaming somebody.
Now she won't have anything to do; I predict she'll have a nervous breakdown. And I have told her that.
