Congressional Candidate Kobach attacks his rivals for stance on immigration

Kansas is nowhere near the border, but immigration control is a dominant issue in the Republican primary for Kansas' 3rd Congressional District.

Driving the issue is Kris Kobach, who has billed himself as the most conservative candidate in the race. A former counsel on immigration to U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft, Kobach has used immigration to separate himself from his rivals, Kansas Rep. Patricia Lightner and Adam Taff.

He has mailed ads to more than 30,000 households in the 3rd District suggesting that Taff and Lightner want to reward undocumented immigrants and put national security at risk.

Bet the Republicans won't help him finance his campaign if he wins. Especially, if he is against handing this country over to the Mexicans. That is sudden death in the Republican party now days.

Just when the Republican Party was starting to see signs of success in its efforts to reach out to the more Conservative, Hispanic, ( 'Cholos' ) gang-bangers, drug dealers, car thieves and pimps, this guy Kobach goes and spoils it all.

I just checked the Kansas Secretary of State's web site and according to the "Unoffical" results listed there with all precincts reporting, Kobach won with 38,124 votes to Taff's 38,037. Couldn't find any articles on the Kansas primary elections. I suppose there could be a recount or the results could change if absentee ballots aren't all counted.
