I thought they were very credible. They both struck me as libs -- at least until this experience -- with her being a journalist and he being a flaming metrosexual, and thus, they should be the ones screeming about overreacting and misunderstandings and learning to get along. I too would like to think this was just a misunderstanding and overreaction on their part, but not one other person on the flight has contradicted their observations, although I'm not aware of any first hand confirmations either. Too many things need to be explained, like why the flight crew allowed the behavior, particularly during the final approach, why the pilots and flight crew didn't direct passengers back to their seats during the flights, why the pilots didn't land at the first available airport, why no other person on that flight has confirmed or negated what this couple has said, and why hasn't anyone confirmed or negated the alibi of the so-called Syrian band.
My theory is that the flight attendants knew that on 9/11 flight attendants were killed before the planes were crashed, and they were afraid that if they went up and said something to the guys about sitting back down on approach, they might have their throat slit or something... On the other hand if the guys were standing up and going to do something bad, what did the flight attendants have to lose?
Serious frustration on my part, too, about not getting the questions you posed answered.
I think this will fade away with only the poor souls like us really caring and paying attention to it.
