There is one large Syrian band I've found that is apparently touring the US right now. The name of the band is Kulna Sawa and their website can be found at www.kulnasawa.com.

I will forward this to the author to see if she recognizes the faces.

I was in a band for years, and you don't typically fly 14 people from one coast to the other, zigzagging the country. You book a gig in LA, then Palm Springs, then up the coast to San Fran, then Portland, then Seattle or whatever. The cost of running 14 people around the country plus sound, lighting, and power equipment (unless you rent everything at every stop) is huge.

I received a reply from Mel Lehman

Dear xxx xxxxxx,

I am the Manager of the Kulna Sawa/Together Concert for Peace Tour which will take place in November. At this point the band is still in Syria. Kulna Sawa is not the band referred to in recent press coverage and web discussion about Flight 327.

Any help you could give me in sharing this message with others would be greatly appreciated.

I didn't really expect a reply. I'm going have to send him a nice thank you note.

At least we can eliminate Kulna Sawa as the possible group.
