She sounds perfectly reasonable to me. She can't care for three by herself and she knew her body couldn't handle three either. What if her boyfriend takes off after she had the three because it was too much stress or worse dies. He obviously didn't want to put her worries at ease with marriage or at least guarantee financial security just in case something happens. It happens all the time and she would have to do it all on her own. She only wanted one baby because that's all she could handle. Why would you purposefully create three babies when you only want one?
Yeah, God, why did you create three? Oh, because three was what You wanted!
If that's "reason" to you, you're insane.
It was not a case of setting out to create three babies, they were already created.
The only legitimate way you can be in favor of abortion is to believe that it is not ending a life. If you can somehow convince yourself that a fetus isn't a human being, then yes, you can have an abortion for whatever reason you want to. But if you think it's human, then it's murder, even if you didn't want triplets.
Under your line of reasoning, it would be perfectly ok for her to kill the babies when they were five days old. Suppose this woman had been poor, and she hadn't gotten a sonogram. Then she had triplets. Would it be ok then to kill thes babies?
She didn't know her body couldn't handle it -- a 46 year old woman here gave birth to 3 healthy triplets with no complications to herself. This woman came right out and said she killed two of her babies so she wouldn't have to shop at Costco's. That's how cheap the abortion side's arguments have become.
This is not some welfare case. This is a feminist activist who I bet makes a pretty good living if she's living where she does--a living I might add corrupting and filling our young women with vitriol and hatred. She does not deserve your made up sympathy scenario.
My immediate response was, I cannot have triplets. I was not married; I lived in a five-story walk-up in the East Village; I worked freelance; and I would have to go on bed rest in March. I lecture at colleges, and my biggest months are March and April. I would have to give up my main income for the rest of the year. There was a part of me that was sure I could work around that. But it was a matter of, Do I want to?
Any Questions?
Why would you let three Jews live when you only want one?
