I'm sure the fellows at ARPANET will be surprised how he invented "the Internet".

Actually it's not his fault, he recognizes that he didn't do much at all and freely admits it, guess it's the press that doesn't know it's net from it's web, amoung other things.

You'd think with how easy it is to Google something people would quit making ignorant statements that can be checked in less than a minute. What a waste.

Berners-Lee deserves credit for the World Wide Web (as opposed to the Internet). He developed Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP), Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) and the URL.

He now lives in Mass where he runs the World Wide Web Consortium at MIT,

What's your point? There are a few not-so-bright posters here who don't know the difference between the net and the web, but Berners-Lee did a great job inventing the web. Anyone who used the net before that surely appreciates what he did.
