I'm sure you mean Congressman John Culberson with a B not a V. He took over the Texas 7th when Bill Archer retired as Chairmen of Ways and Means after 30 years in Congress.

It's been suggested here that the Texas Congressman was lying this afternoon. Since you seem to have knowledge of him, is he credible?

I would say Congressman Culberson is one of the most reliable conservative voices in the House and for sure in the Texas delegation. He appears on conservative talk radio in Houston (KSEV 700) all the time and gives exact, specific answers. He has been trying to get Congress to cut the budget of all the departments that are not doing their job on the border.

Only once or twice have I heard him give incorrect answers and he always corrects himself the next time he is on the air. If he said it, he believes it and if he said he was told, then he was.

Xena, Eaker, Flyer, humble and DG may want to add their opinion.

He's very credible. I've known him for years, long before he ran for Congress, and he's one of those rare politicians who tells the truth as he understands it without spinning it. He's honest about his goals and what he's trying to accomplish.

He's no wild-eyed firebrand on the fringe of the party. He's solid, and a rising star in the GOP.

He's not my congressman, but is well known in conservative circles in the Houston area and is considered very credible.
