Two of the stars of TV's top-rated show, CSI, have been fired, CBS 2 News learned Thursday.
George Eads and Jorja Fox, who play investigators Nick Stokes and Sara Sidle on the show, have both been fired.
According to one source, both were demanding more money from CBS.
On Thursday, Eads didn't show up to work, and Fox didn't provide the network enough assurance that she would return to work. Both were then let go.
Producers of TV's top-rated show were busy casting two new roles Thursday.
The stunning news comes on the same day CSI received four Emmy nominations, including one from best Drama Series.
CBS is not making any formal comment on the moves.

This stinks. I love both of them on the show, they are integral parts of one of the best shows on TV. Damn, and i was really hoping that the relationship between the head of the lab and her would develop. damn.

CSI script, season five, episode one:
The CSI team has to investigate the deaths of team members Nick Stokes and Sara Sidle. They were shot, stabbed, burned, choked, shot again and then eaten by coyotes.
They are not expected to return for episode two.

Follow Wayne's advise and you too can be a millionare. I have watched him on Fox for years, he doesn't need Hollywood. They need him.

"Brilliant move by the actor & actress involved -- just ask McLain Stevenson, Wayne Rogers, David Caruso & Suzanne Somers." Caruso is doing okay so far. I believe he earns more per episode on CSI Miami than he ever did on NYPD Blue.

"Viewers will ditch CSI in droves..." Nope. I never really liked the woman and the dude's "I'm only here 'cause I need the bucks" attitude wore on me.
The stars are Peterson and Helgenberger and everything else is window dressing. Easy to change curtains and the fresh blood will be invigorating.

Wayne Rogers is a multi-millionaire businessman now. He's regularly on the FOX news Wall Street Show.

I watched CSI for the first time two weeks ago, and I don't know if it's just me, but that Carusa is the most annoying actor I've ever watched. I literally couldn't watch him. He's so over-the-top condescending. I understand that's the way he is in real life. Yuck.

No kidding.

Caruso's on the other CSI. Maybe these two will end up on "NYPD Red?"

William Petersen had said he was leaving the show. I guess he is waiting for his contract to expire. IIRC he is upset by all of the spin offs. It weakens the available plots for the genre.

I'm certain he's more successful as an investor than he was as a screenwriter:

David Caruso stars in CSI Miami, yes, but it took him ten years to finally get on a show that made it past six weeks... he made one of the stupidest moves in "Hollywood" when he left NYPD Blue after the first season... even he admits it...

He (Caruso) was out in the cold for a long, long time. He'll never make up the money he lost.

Did you know that CBS once considered doing a "Fred & Ethel" spin-off series, but Vivian Vance refused to sign up to work full time with William Frawley "for any amount of money"? She called him "that square-headed, drunken Irish slob," and he called her "that no-talent, fat-ass bag of bones."
But they still showed up to work on time on "I Love Lucy!"

To bad that David Caruso dude didn't price himself out. Or didn't he already do that in another undertaking?
