JOHN KERRY'S RADIO CITY SHAME (disgust at Hollywarped weirdos hate-fest)
NY POST ^ | July 15, 2004 | LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

Posted on 07/15/2004 7:20:00 AM PDT by Liz

If you want to know why we will never see the likes of a Roosevelt, Truman, Kennedy, Eisenhower or Reagan again, consider the verbal assault perpetrated upon President Bush and Vice President Cheney by Whoopi Goldberg and the rest of the Hollywood upper crust at the Kerry fund-raiser at Radio City Music Hall ("Radio City Filth Fest," Editorial, July 12). If they want to criticize the administration's policies, fine. But, they debase themselves when they stoop to personal attacks. I am disappointed that Sens. Kerry and Edwards did not follow the example set by Howard Dean and object to the comments made by their supporters. We need to have serious debate about serious issues. This is not the time for personal attacks. Dean Delianites Brooklyn

I got so disgusted while reading The Post's account of the Democrats' star-studded show in our own Radio City Music Hall that I just wanted to put down the paper and wash my hands. That this group of West-Coast, leftist weirdos can come into our town and sully one of our institutions and call it politics is shameful. This is what Bill Cosby was talking about when he complained that the people of this country go to the basest of their natures rather than try to bring the country up. Kerry and Edwards should be embarrassed and ashamed that they laughed so heartily at this base humor. Phyllis Clark Manhasset

For the record, I think that both Cheney and Kerry's supporters were wrong. John Woodmaska Kearny, N.J.

Judging by the trashing of President Bush by Whoopi Goldberg at the Kerry-Edwards love-in at Radio City Music Hall, she seems to be losing her marbles. If she is a typical Kerry-Edwards supporter, this says volumes about the ethics of the Democratic Party. Francis Murray Manhattan

****

Bargain-bin comedians Chevy Chase and Whoopi Goldberg have thrown their support to the Kerry-Edwards ticket. Maybe these endorsements will sway the votes of their two remaining fans to the Democratic side. Stephen Walsh Tarrytown

Did we not learn about Dim party ethics from the Clintons?

Someone in one of those letters compared the slimefest to Cheney's swearing at Leahy.

When Cheney swore at Leahy, it slipped out. We have all had moments like that.

When Whoopi and the rest of the Hollyweird people spoke, they had it planned and memorized.

Big difference.

They better release that Radio City Liberalpalooza video, I'm getting real sick of these liberal cover-ups.

While they're at, Tay-ra-ZZa Heinz-Kerry better start releasing those tax records, I want to see for myself how much ketchup money is being funneled overseas to fund radical groups.

They called Howard Dean crazy but at least he had the common decency to see trash and condemn it. Not so Kerry and Edwards.

sorry, i disagree. that sounds like a typical liberal justification, no offense though. the real reason it was justified was because cheney had been attacked and lied about this whole time and couldnt hold it in anymore. i think it was long overdue. but also the hate fest in NY was an unprovoked attack on bush. i wish he'd tell hollywood to f*ck off!

Hey, don't try to hang John Mellencamp, Bon Jovi & Whoopi on us. They don't live here.

Goldberg a comedian? I'd always regarded her as a tragedian. She certainly murdered plenty of scripts!
Her comments were in tune with her acting skills - coarse, unrefined and unappealing

"When Whoopi and the rest of the Hollyweird people spoke, they had it planned and memorized."

How many did it take to write the material?

Just so. Leahy had been slandering Kerry in public, and then came over to him, smiled, and offered to shake hands. Plenty of reason to get angry. I don't condone the language, but Cheney was justifiably angry at Leahy's slimy hypocrisy. None of these reasons apply to Whoopi Goldberg and the audience that applauded her. Above all, however, it was a public statement, publicly applauded and then suppressed by the media.

I think you're both wrong! The REAL difference is that the Democrat Bash Bush Hate Fest was a pre-planned, staged event put on for PUBLIC exhibition. Cheney's remark was intended to be completely PRIVATE, between him and Leahy.

THAT'S the BIG difference! And its important because it speaks volumes about the kind of out-of-control lunatics the Democrats are today!

Whoopi Goldberg used unsavory remarks in the hearing of the august patrician John Kerry? Has she no sense of decorum?

First I have heard of that about her....

Think it may affect her position as a spokesperson for Slim-fast?

She has been removed as spokesman for Slim Fast due to the avalanche of complaints.

I would add that Cheney, despite his use of profanity, was rigthteous in his anger and its release. Leahy is a fraud and liar, and deserves much worse than just being told what for.

The Kerry Krowd of Komedy Kreeps are a clueless bunch of political pretenders and mimics, spouting pointless lies that they don't about issues they neither understand nor have answers for.

Chevy Chase's understanding of the threat to America, going by his post Hate-Fest comments, shows no comprehension of the facts, no idea of what he talks about, and an attention span of less than 5 minutes.

Frankly, we should face the facts that more often than not, the "famous and beautiful" people are nothing more than hollow shells, without enough substance to keep them on the ground. Thus this latest idiotic embarrassment of a fund raiser for the Party of Fraud.

Plus .. I think you've mentioned before that the Cheney encounter with Leahy was "personal" .. it was between the 2 of them .. and it was only Leahy who reported it.

Goldberg's statements were public - behind a microphone.

You're absolutely right. In addition, Cheney said it to his face.
