I understand her point very well, I read the article from top to bottom. Normally, Michelle Malkin comes off as an astute, insightful journalist whose views are dead on target. As I said, I understand her point, I'm just not sure that she is seeing the whole picture.

I have been stationed in the Philippines and traveled pretty extensively through the country. I don't know how closely she may stay in contact with family that may still live in the Philippines, but the Philippines is NOT the US. It is a poor country with little industry aside from agriculture, it has a small, poorly trained military and it has its own Muslim extremists in the southern islands to contend with. IOW, the Philippines is NOT Spain, NOT France and NOT Germany. Spain, France and Germany do NOT have the same problems that the Philippines have.

While I don't like the actions of the Philippines, I understand them. They are in less a position to stand up against the Muslim thugs on moral grounds than other nations. They also can't rely on the US to come and prevent the Muslim extremists in the south from making major attacks on major population centers. When the Philippines threw the US out of the country in the late 80s or early 90s, they pretty much burned that bridge, so they are on their own.

Michelle hasn't walked a mile in those moccasins.

I have been to the Phillipines, Indonesia, Malaysia and Maldives many times too. (Dirt poor countries...hmmm seem to have a pattern with 7th century bug eating islamofascist countries...)

Point being either you are a country who will grovel and accept terrorists' demands or you are NOT.

Doesn't MATTER is you are a rich or poor country...what the hell does that have to do with "ACCEPTING" terrorists DEMANDS?
