Hope yer right SoCal Pubbie, but isn't it strange to find gang bangers on a citizens committee?!

Do you ever watch the show Deadwood? In the old west, I'm sure there were all sorts of unsavory characters on a lot of "citizens committees".

The point of my last post was that not all of L.A. is South Central, and not all of Southern California is Los Angeles.

I have enjoyed it for 46 years. It will last long after I'm gone. You don't have a clue, like most of the people here, about So Cal.

What sparked the LA riots last time was the media...and if the media spreads a rumor about a new riot in LA, they will again start a frenzy. The media is to blame and we shouldn't talk about rumors about riots as it's putting fuel on a fire.

Hmm, interesting post. I am writing from this "shit hole" of Southern California, under blue skies with low humidity, looking out at the half million dollar homes (cheap for this neck of the woods) in my neighborhood...

I guess the excrement here is just a lot better than the rest of the country.

It all depends on where you live. You're right about the area you're in, but do you know where Wilmington (harbor area of L.A.) is? It's sometimes known as Where the Sewer Meets the Sea. The excrement here would curl your hair.

There were so many cops on him, we couldn't tell if the suspect was resisting. From what we could see, the cops were hitting him all over the place. A good smack upside the head, imo, should have been sufficient to knock the guy out.

After the Rodney King beating, I was asking myself why police don't use tranquilizer dart guns like fish and game does. Situations like these, gives LE a big black eye.

I know where EVERYWHERE is in So Cal! Just head a little bit north. Palos Verdes is very nice.

Of course this fiasco wouldn’t be complete without the arrival of a fake out-of-area civil rights fighter, and on cue, the “Riot King,” Al Sharpton rode into town, meeting with Chief Bratton and Ali. Bratton, apparently sensing, as a new white police chief in a sea of angry blacks, that he was short of friends, backpedaled in a pathetic fashion from his earlier comments aimed at “nitwit” Ali, saying the comments were “intemperate and unfortunate.”

"but the way I look at it, if there's another riot, real estate values in the area will plummet like they did 12 years ago. Then maybe I could afford to buy a house."

Kinda like after a hurricane in our neck of the woods. People are lining up to buy the damaged property.

LOL Yes, it is nice. There are also great places in northern California on the coast. However, I couldn't afford either location.
