RUSH: Right. So essentially, when you boil this all down,
take the emotion out of this for just a second,
essentially when people say, "Yeah, I think government
should provide my health care or I think the government
should take care of my education, the government should--"
what you're really saying is that your fellow citizens
should.
CALLER: I never thought of it from that point.
....
CALLER: If I say I'm for pro-choice, that a woman should
decide, then am I saying yes, I'm okay with abortion?
RUSH: Yeah, because in the American political context
today pro-choice just means pro-abortion
Is she really that clueless?...I guees I should listen to the audio. Though I trust his how to be honest..I am having a hard time believing this.

Not clueless. Just confused. I know there are a lot of people like her out there. I just forwarded the MP3 to a coworker of mine. We were having a similar discussion Friday morning. He claims to be neither Democrat nor Republican. Hopefully this will help him find his way.

It's funny. I was fairly good friends with a black man at work, who was 60 and never voted Republican for anyone in his life. He was a Democrat from the time of Kennedy on. But when we talked politics, he was conservative on many points, drugs, education, abortion, strong military, etc. But the Democrat Party was his bastion of hope. It will never change for him, and I suspect for many who are pretty conservative in their soul. I can't explain it, and neither could he.

RUSH: All right, now, when you say that the government should give you a helping hand, I want you to keep in mind who the government is. Who do you think -- when you say the government should give you a helping hand -- who is that? Where does the government get its money? CALLER: From taxes?
RUSH: Right. So essentially, when you boil this all down, take the emotion out of this for just a second, essentially when people say, "Yeah, I think government should provide my health care or I think the government should take care of my education, the government should--" what you're really saying is that your fellow citizens should.

I screamed when I heard this last week. She actually had not thought about where the money comes from. Best call Rush has ever taken.

Karina is way ahead of many if not most of her age group. She is thinking. Not about boy friends, the mall, how to scam the govt programs etc., but about her future and that of her child. Her daughter is lucky to have a mother who cares about the future of both of them.

Many liberals think that the Government "has it's own money".......they don't grasp that Government money is our money.

I saw a comedian on TV last week that asked, How can the government be broke? Theyve have the machine that makes the money. Of course, he was joking
I think he was joking. Surely, he was joking.

RUSH: Well, he's right in this sense. See now, this is what I believe based on having seen it. These are big arguments that ensue from this, but I think whereas in the case of your Pell grant, your education and this sort of thing, I don't find anything wrong with assistance to people who are trying to improve themselves, who intend to pay back some of this assistance, and you're doing it for reasons that -- I mean you're doing it, you're going to school -- you're accessing an opportunity, you're not depending on somebody else to get through life, so you're actually depending on yourself here. Am I losing my mind here or did Rush come out in favor of using confiscated tax dollars to help people who are too lazy to help themselves? Perhaps Rush doesn't realize that there are lots of folks out there who put themselves through college without any financial aid, and who make the decision not to have families until they are financially able to support them WITHOUT government assistance.
I'm really saddened that Rush would condone this woman's leeching off the backs of the rest of us.

It's a loan. She's going to pay it back with interest.

Secondly, even it were a loan, that loan is guaranteed by tax dollars. If she didn't pay it back guess who would?
