Police Await Results Of Tests On White Powder

NEW ORLEANS -- Law enforcement and other officials responded Monday morning to an anthrax scare at a post office in Meraux.

Police said a clear plastic bag containing a white powder was left in the post office lobby, which is open 24 hours a day. Attached was a threatening note, but police would not elaborate.
