I wonder if 19 ME could take over a plane with just brute force without having any weapons. For instance, the story told of a ME that sat in 1st class near the front of the plane, maybe waiting for the pilot to come our. The other 18 could easily subdue the 2 or 3 air marshals, hoping that the other passengers would too afraid to act...could this work?

I think anything would be possible for them to try.

Wondering if Northwest allows pilots to carry weapons? I've gotten out of the loop on that issue.

I was shocked that none of the passengers did anything. Even to have at least gotten up to be near the bathroom.

Since 9/11 I always wear high heels when we fly. Just because I want something that I could possibly use as a weapon, if needed. Thankfully my husband is a big former football player type guy, who is level headed and in an emergency would and could do something.

My personal opinion is that if the Islamists thought that any AMERICAN on any flight could possibly be armed....well this scenario may not have happened. And I am talking about life long AMERICANS...not the passport...visa type.
