Check your email....
Late last night, I dashed off a fairly mediocre but polite email to Asa Hutchinson and I actually got a reply back. Mainly because of it's brevity, it didn't seem like the usual non-information form response. Maybe he's actually reading some of his correspondence.
Here's my email:
To: Hutchinson, Asa
Sent: Fri Jul 09 03:51:28 2004
Subject: Appearance on the Ken and John Show
Mr. Hutchinson:
It was courageous for you to go on the Ken and John show. I applaud you for that and for your role during the impeachment hearings. However, it would be even more courageous for you to do everything possible protect our borders. Border state taxes are out of control because our hospitals, schools and welfare services are overburdened with illegal immigrants. It is not fair to American taxpayers and it is dangerous. As easy as it is for Mexican laborers to come over the borders, a terrorist can easily do the same thing.
You are a moral and ethical person. If there is another attack on this country, I know you would personally regret not doing everything possible to secure our borders. You have shown in the past you have both the character and will to do the right thing. You have done so at great political cost. However, every significant poll shows that American citizens, by overwhelming margins, want the federal government to control our borders. Please listen to your fellow citizens. You would have their overwhelming support and gratitude just by enforcing the law!
Sincerely,
lainde XXXXXXX
His response:
Thanks for your note. I will do my best. Asa hutchinson

See post#81. The messages are obviously getting through. Thanks to John and Ken and FR, he must have received thousands of emails. I was disturbed that there were reports of a lot of obscene calls and letters, so I tried to be very unemotional and polite. (Remembering my mother's practical reminder about "catching more flies with honey" and wanting him to realize that millions of ordinary, sane Americans, not extremist wackos, are VERY frustrated by the border situation.
Probably a canned reply to a keyword in the subject line.
....regarding your post # 25. the Gub-mint seems opposed to "free speach" and is basically enforcing a news black out regarding this matter. I guess you're ok with this?
Drastic times unfortunately call for drastic measures to "get the word out".
Sad, but true.
They fight dirty, so will we.
Give it a rest Dane.
Of course we know that Baca was the point man. But this is a conservative forum and we expect this sort of vitriolic nonsense from a Democrat, a liberal, an anchor baby or a Hispanic cultural separatist.
We aren't going to correct any obvious problems without conservative governance. Conservatives must first get the Republican house (Bush) in order before the nation can take on the obvious.
The first priority is to change Bush's attitudes or, if he won't change, get rid of him. Once this is accomplished, the "Bacas" of the nation can be centered in our political cross hairs. One constructive step at a time.
We all thought we took that first step almost 4 years ago and now look where we are. We have 3 shorts months to reform Bush or torpedo his efforts to surrender our sovereignty.
Your email was good. I haven't received a reply to the one I sent:
Dear Mr. Hutchinson,
While I didn't catch the whole interview, I must say that I was disappointed in the part I did listen to.
It seemed to me that you did not have any answers to the questions asked of you, specifically regarding the number of illegals caught in California. That, in my opinion, should have been right at your fingertips. The situation here in California is going to reach a boiling point soon, if the government does not begin to do its duty to uphold the laws. I really feel bad for people who are encouraged by their own countries to break another country's laws just to survive as human beings, but enough is enough!
Besides the number of illegal aliens requiring services such as health care, emergency housing, food stamps, and other programs...we have another issue to deal with. Aztlan, meCHa, and La Raza are under the mistaken impression that California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas actually belong to Mexico. They are becoming rather belligerent, hence my comment about "boiling point". You don't really expect Amercian citizens to put up with this nonsense indefinitely, do you sir?
I hope that you have an opportunity to read not only my email, but also everyone else's. It is in everyone's best interest that you all understand our level of frustration.
Have a nice day.
Sincerely,
I doubt that I'll get a reply.
And yet do nothing about it.
Your above italicized statement is akin to you finding out that you have malignant cancer and saying "that's what I expect from malignant cancer, I'll just ignore it."
The Border Patrol Union has been fighting against Congressional nonfeasance for years. The Union has even testified before Congress, they don't need to single out Joe Baca.
Baca is in charge of the border patrol? If you are pro-all-immigration, then you and Asa should stand up and defend it like Baca does.
Uh Ajnin, testisfying and speaking cross words are two different things.
Get back to me when the border patrol spokesman, Shaun Moran, has a cross word to say in public about Rep. Baca(D-CA) or Feinstein/Boxer or any other democrat for that matter.
Uh sixmil, maybe you and your demo border patrol union buddies should take a course in "coherance"
I see you are as sure of your position as Asa, and just about as good at political speak and dodging the issue. Just curious, what's in it for you? Got any illegals on the payroll, or do you feel guilty about stealing California from the Mexico?
Don't fall for Dane's act. The dude lives in Pittsburgh, PA. He wouldn't know Anaheim from Aztlan. He thinks Taco Bell is real Mexican food. He's one of FR's East Coast 'experts' on illegal immigration, the ones whose expertise grows with their distance from the border. Ask him something common about California that everyone here knows- he'll have to scour the internet to try to figure it out so that he can keep up his pretense of knowledge. Might as well make him work a bit harder to keep the act going.
I understand the concern but please allow me to offer an alternative viewpoint using a similar medical analogy.
I can't do anything about a cancer if I don't have a reliable physician or effective medication. Specifically I need a president who will enforce traditional immigration concepts and I need a willingness on the part of the California governance to redistrict the state to get rid of the single issue ideologues.
My emphasis is to work with what's available to me. As a conservative that means threatening Bush with a loss of my vote if he won't change his stance and at the state level there is no alternative but to get rid of Schwarzenegger since in my estimation he's not salvageable for a whole host of reasons beginning with a mentality that derives from holding dual citizenship.
Well to go along with your allegory since the state doctor is closer to deal with the cancer in your state, shouldn't you be directing your energies to eradicating the cancer with the closest "medicine"(i.e trying to get California's house in order)
That's absolutely correct. Regarding this specific issue the top priority is to get the state to redistrict.
Schwarzenegger has suggested a step in the correct direction but the plan still relies on the judgment of public officials. The problem is that while Schwarzenegger has mentioned it, he has done nothing active to move it along.
Bush however is an equally necessary prime target for two obvious reasons. First, immigration issues are federal rather than local and second, Bush has been actively pursuing his policies which are as disastrous as any cooked up by the cultural separatists in California.
Bush has my support regarding his "matching foreign workers with US employers when no American will take the job" which Bush reiterated just yesterday if the program is limited to the production and harvest of perishable commodities and the program participants are only males over the compulsory education age among the 50 states. The balance of Bush's policies on Mexican immigration are a quick trip to a loss of sovereignty.
The problem has gotten so bad that every time Bush opens his mouth there is a documented, substantial increase in attempted, illegal boarder crossing. Yesterday's reiteration may well calm the Mexican masses in California's interior but it will also effect Arizona boarder in about two to three weeks.
Uhhhhhhh...
Dane, Forget about Baca, Feinstein and Boxer. What are your thoughts as pertaining to Asa Hutchinson?
Gee, you wouldn't happen to be talking about this thread, would you?
Since I'm part of the 'jobless recovery' (i.e. jobless) I'll give Jorge bush my voteless ballot and pay my taxes with dollarless money(I guess Christmas came a little late that year. But seriously, the search capabilities on FR are pretty good for finding posts if you know who posted it and who was being replied to...)Sorry that I can't give you the physical $1.50 over the web for you to buy your local Sunday paper to check out the employment ads, but I can direct you to a website.
Monster.com
It would be more productive than whining on FR about some secretive and exclusive NWO conspiracy against you, IMO.

And please, no need to thank me for restarting your flame war. It is rewarding in and of itself.
Thank you :-)
