No way. I am a long time Brave fan and can tell you Georgians love this guy. Last 4th of July, we took the kids to a Brave game where Smoltz came in for the ninth as the closer. The sold-out crowd went crazy. It was like a reenactment of the scene from the movie "Major League" when "Wild Thing" came out to pitch.
Smoltz is well-known for his deep Christian beliefs. In fact he was so upset about the Christian school his kids were attending changing the curriculum to minimize teaching religion he led a revolt and started a brand new school. Jeff Foxworthy is his partner in this school.
Smoltz lives in my area and he is very committed to the community. Two weeks ago he had a baseball camp for youngsters in the area.
Great guy. Let them try and smear him.

No way. I am a long time Brave fan and can tell you Georgians love this guy. Also a long time Brave fan, and I agree - he won't get much, if any, grief from Braves fans over this. When I said he might be "Rockered" , I meant in the national media and perhaps other parks.
