finally read Capt dye's bio, was a SGM and then became and Officer, that is a gutsy thing to do.

He explained that to the audience when he was starting up the show (near the start
of the drive into Iraq); I'm sure a lot of civilians like myself would
otherwise not understand the term.
Dye (and his show) went of sabbatical for some months as he was the second unit
director for Oliver Stone's movie on Alexander The Great.
(hey, you can't always pick who you work with in Hollyweird, but Dye
said this might be a stepping-stone for him to be the real "man-in-charge"
on a film in the future)
