Found a Islamic center in Richland, WA. What stuck me as so odd (and I'm no expert so it may not be odd) is Richland is right next to Hanford

Actually, not so odd. Many Muslim engineers and scientists work at Hanford, along with Hindus, Jews, Christians, atheists and others who have nothing to do with this discussion. The center is actually in West Richland, is kept up nicely and is in an area of newer homes. I have never heard of any problems related to it (doesn't mean I never will).

Interestingly enough I recently came across this in my readings...

"The odd thing about Islamic fundamentalists is that it's always had the strongest appeal among engineers, There's even a joke about it in Arabic.
