How wierd is it that the ADL doesn't try to argue that the motion picture industry doesn't purposely try to depict minorities in negative stereotypes, but instead tries to say Hollywood isn't run by Jews.
It's a teensie bit true: Rupert Murdoch is not Jewish. Murdoch may sound like a Jewish last name, but only a Limey would let himself be born to parents who would name him "Rupert."
Seriously, Hollwood is not run by Jews. It's run by atheists, many of whom happen to be of Jewish ancestry, but who are atheists precisely because they have abandonned their religion (tautological, no?).
But like all things, you can't have a rational discussion about who controls Hollywood because ex-Jews wrap themselves in their Jewishness to prevent criticism.
Murdoch's mother was Jewish, and she reportedly brought him up in orthodox Judaism.

I get the feeling that you've summed up the situation fairly.
At the same time, I thought the reaction of the radio host "Mr. KABC" (a Jewish law-and-order
liberal in Los Angeles) to the book linked below was pretty funny. He basically said
"of course Jews run Hollywood...why try to pretend that they don't?"
