The old man was the greatest actor ever. He didn't act much since the 70s and he'll always be remembered in the role of the Don in The Godfather.

I surely hope it wasn't suicide. He's been in pretty dire straits lately and just yesterday it was revealed he's $20 million in debt, living alone, and receiving government benefits. He had hidden his Oscars to keep them from being taken in a credit judgment.

Remember when he testified at his son's murder trial? He refused to put his hand on the bible stating he wouldn't swear to something he didn't believe in...(paraphrasing)........I suppose that's a pretty good indication where he is.

Damn. It seems that every other week or so, somebody famous or well-known dies. What the heck is going on? When will this madness stop?

If I remember correctly, he wasn't the first choice for the Godfather. People thought he was washed up and too expensive. But he came in, read the part and walked out with it.
