They want government to have power, because they intend to be the ones pulling the strings and controlling it. They aren't stupid...they are evil. I beg to differ. I **know** a lot of these people, and many of them, the "wives" in particular, are very very simple-minded and naive. Frighteningly so. For them, the donations and the attendant social connections, are natural extensions of their "pink" perspective on the world.

If the Democrats would have their way, they would take from the rich and distribute enough of the money through entitlement programs and tax schemes to create a majority of voters that pay no taxes thus ensuring Democrat control in perpetuity.
