The Canadian election is today. If the most recent polls are correct, the Conservative Party of Canada may win more seats in Canada's House of Commons, setting the stage for a Conservative minority government. A new day may be dawning in Canada. But the election is going to be close.
Please use this thread for any early election articles that pop-up over the course of the day, predictions and news analysis, and, of course, the actual results as they come in.
Also, please post links to Canadian elections result sites here.
Those issues don't sell in Canada. Wrong country, wrong place. Central Pennsylvania is known as Alabama north. There is no Alabama north in Eastern Canada. It is a choice between William Jefferson Clinton, John Kerry, HIllary Clinton, Barney Frank, and Bernie Saunders. Anything to the right of that, is rather on the fringe.
Nope, I haven't seen him since this afternoon. Yapping his face off on crossfire.
Well, both right now. Yes to Kyoto, no to "Star Wars," higher fuel tax...etc.
Wouldn't PR also help the Conservatives? That would probably be the reason it doesn't get adopted.

Of course. Its Canadian to follow Michael Moore, Ralph Nader, and Peter Jennings. Sometimes I wish our home-grown Lefties did us all a favor and move to Canada. They would feel right at home there.
Also, it drive me nuts how the English-speaking politicians have to give bilingual speeches, but the Quebeckers can speak nothing but French. I will never understand why Canadians put up with the overt hypocritical racism of Quebec.

I'm as far west as you can get from Quebec and it still isn't far enough away. I have no use for that Province. And I am sick and tired of having French shoved down my throat everytime I turn around. Every product sold here has to have french on the label. We have to take french in school. Oh Please, don't get me started on Quebec. I will be here ranting and raving all night. :0)
I see "biere" on the Labatt's Blue sitting next to me!
I see it everywhere I look. I see you have good taste in biere though. I think a good old Labatts just might be in order. Hell, after this fiasco tonight 3 or 4 might be in order.
Down to 156 to 152.
D'accord!
Is it possible to get the Libs/NDP down to 154? What's still out?
There are several skin tight seats. It is barely possible. The numbers are based who is in the lead.
That would be quite cool. Kinda like "Dewey Really Does Defeat Truman" in a way.
Annie-grab-your-guns was re-elected, according to CBC. So that seat's not out. The Bloc is set at 54.
CBC called it for Landslide Annie.
