Matt Maupin is a friend of my son Steve who is also in Iraq. I talked with Steve two days ago and he was asking me if I had heard anything. Steve is much concerned that no one is actively doing anything to find Matt. I think that he feels a great deal of frustration because there's nothing he can do either.

Steve has asked me to write something here at FR to help keep Matt's memory alive and prayers that Matt himself may still be alive. I think he had in mind for me to write some sort of vanity but I am frustrated too.

His feelings of not being able to find Matt are symptomatic of what many many of our soldiers are going through.

Steve and Matt are both members of the 724th transportation company deployed from Bartonville, Illinois.
