Any survey that found Lorge to have better name recognition than Michels is suspect. Most people I've talked to didn't even realize he was running - and that includes more than a few active Republicans. While the other candidates have been extremely active since last fall, I've not seen Lorge once - and Michels, Welch, and Darrow have been ubiquitous.

While that was my initial reaction one thing to remember is that this survery was of likely Rep primary voteres which means they have a much higher likelyhood of knowing the Lorge family name. WHile Lorge has not done a lot, Michels was tottaly unknown before he entered the race.

The thing is how is the survey suspect? The guy who did it is Bush top poller--would he jeopordize his reputation on a primary race? In addition, if we say his survey is suspect that gives the Dems fodder to use against Bush.
