The proper way to handle this is for the girl to be charged without regard to the circumstances of the shooting then let a judge or jury find her innocent. . This is an open and shut case. It's not good to saddle the State Attorney's office with making judgment calls regarding felonies. Do you really believe that every death caused by another requires a jury trial? We may disagree where to draw the line but I find it hard to believe that you believe the State Attorney should not be allowed to use some judgement on the merits of taking cases to trial.

I was mistaken in my opinion. After I thought it through, and with the input of another who messaged me, I came to the conclusion that DA's decline to prosecute all the time, that's the way the system works. Oops! Thanks for helping bring me to my senses!
