Stayin Alive at number 9 ?????

This appears to be a list of top movie pop songs. To get the real good music you have to include scores, such as Last of the Mohicans, Saving Private Ryan, The Gladiator, etc.

Yes, it is a list of top songs, not of top scores. You have to be able to sing a song. "Bum BUM ba-ba-ba BUM Bum ba-ba-ba BUM bum ba-ba-bum bum." doesn't count. (How could you miss Star Wars! Shem on you!)

It seems they were only including songs with lyrics. I didn't hear any instrumentals. So they didn't include instrumental movie scores. If they had, there's no way they could leave out something like the Theme from the Magnificent Seven, Pink Panther, etc...

Stayin Alive at number 9 ?????

Every song from "Rock'n'Roll High School" or "The Harder They Come" beats the pants off Stayin Alive.

A couple of my favorites:

"Breaking the Sound Barrier," from The Right Stuff. It gave a real sense of the sky being a cathedral.

The ending score from Backdraft. The main character is much saddened; he has lost a great deal that is important to him; but he is continuing mission, and the music soars to a triumphant conclusion honoring all firefighters.
