But we've been bombing. We can't just drop WMD's because it would take MONTHS upon MONTHS to evacuate personnel, allied forces, etc. We had the luxury of having not yet invaded Japan when Truman dropped the A-Bombs. The reality is that we need to either:

1) Beef up forces and gut the place like a dead fish,

or

2) Start ratcheting up some serious pressure on Saudi Arabia, where a good deal of terrorist money still emanates.

I believe that we, as a country, need to ask ourselves what price WE are willing to pay to do away with this cancer...
It may involve MUCH higher oil prices...

You know how I'd handle it? I'd grab the mike, tell the American people 'hey, gas prices are going to 6.00/gal for a little while so get your carpooling plans together now. In exchange, in a few months you never have to hear a squeak out of the Middle East ever again.'

Selective targets. Withdraw all forces to a safe distance from Falluja and drop a MOAB. Shoot anyone trying to leave the area. Ensure that all news media is in attendance. Repeat as necessary.
