Unless we can elect a real Hawk who's not afraid to make some bold moves...

If the subject weren't so deadly serious, your statement would be hilarious.

So taking down the Taliban and Saddam Hussein in less than two years is not bold enough for the likes of you? Suppose President Bush had stopped at Afghanistan and never gone into Iraq? Hmmmm... Do you seriously think the jihadists would have simply all gone home to lead peaceful lives?

Alternatively, if he had not invaded Afghanistan, but launched nuclear weapons on the biggest Afghan cities, do you seriously think the jihadists elsewhere would have simply all gone home to lead peaceful lives? These are crazed people who have been fighting their jihad off and on for a thousand years. The ONLY thing that can put an end to it is the will of the Muslim people, themselves. They have to come to the conclusion that there is a better way, and they then have to be willing to clean up their own societies.

President Bush boldly and bravely has taken the risk of providing both Afghanistan and Iraq with the opportunity to build better, freer societies. If those two peoples can succeed, the President is betting that freedom will spread throughout the Middle East. But the opportunity is for the Iraqis and Afghans to seize. That's why no massive leveling of Fallujah occurred.

By running around like a bunch of Chicken Littles — many on the Left demanding a pullout and many on the Right demanding that we nuke everybody in sight, and both sides blaming President Bush — we are falling dead center into the trap the terrorists have set for us. They think know us better than we know themselves. Let's not prove them right.

I think if GWB wanted IRAQ to be part of a war on terror, he should have continued into Syria and Iran without hesitation.

.....and when the tanks got to the Med. and.....

.....whatever the heck is on the other side of Iran.....

.....then what?.....

They are obsoleteing themselves, and right quickly too.

"My church newsletter for July will be carrying an article I wrote delineating the contrast between Jesus Christ & Mohammed; Christianity and Islam"

Just for the fun of it why don't you go back now and write an article that compares the similarities between Christianity and Islam.

Such as say how both religions have an undying belief as fact that their God is the only true God and the assertion of that is paramount to all else.

It would be interesting to see what that looked like.

Incidentally I couldn’t find you article on the web page. Do you have a more specific url.

the problem is most likely these are syrians. What we need to do is start a brutal sabatoge campaign against their infrastraucture to make them more internally focused. Especially about supplying these terrorists. Once they loose a few fresh water plants, a dam or two, all the electricty in damascus maybe it will get their attention.

I'm going to type this very slowly, so that perhaps something can sink into your heard...

Yes, the emperor said enough. Because they were nuked. The Emperor alone stopped it. Even after being nuked, the military was preparing for the invasion of Japan.

Now pay attention to this next line because its an important one.

There is no emperor in the terrorist organization. There is only the equivalent of the Japanese military.

you can bet we'd have needed a full scale invasion and millions of lost lives in the process on both sides.

This statement beggars the imagination. Did you get your understanding of history from a comic book?

Thus, the obliteration of major cities does work.

The link I provided above points out that by July, 1945 Curtis LeMay had basically run out of large Japanese cities to destroy -- and no surrender was in sight.

In this case, in the current age, there is no city to obliterate - thus a major problem of terrorism.

Precisely. And thus is shown the stupidity of trying to end terrorism by destroying Iraqi cities.

It would have NO impact on them. They only seek to win. To win for them means to subject every single person on Earth. They consider losing their life in this battle to be a great and heroic thing.

Read Rumsfeld's memo. He was spot on. We need to do something to stop the TEACHING and BREEDING of radical Wahabbist Islam. Then, we can worry about killing the remnants that remain. But we've got to stop the growth as well.

make some concrete proposals on what Bush could do to stop kidnapping and killings of individiual persons?

From a post by Mad Ivan

If there is one more beheading, one more suicide bombing, one more Islamic uprising of any kind, we will take out Mecca. The population will be given 24 hours notice, but then we will utterly destroy it, and leave enough radiation behind so that the land will be laid waste.

We tell them Medina is next.

I kinda liked it.

I am talking about the crap spewed from pulpits across this country by religious leaders who would have no problem singing Amazing Grace while they lead us to the slaughter rather than take bold agressive action.

Another way to put that might be: Why does everybody sing Amazing Grace these days but nobody sings Onward Christian Soldiers?

If I were GWB I would do the following:
1. Call for drilling of our own oil wherever it exists.
2. I would actively enlist the services of the Mossad for
training of our own special ops in dealing with the
barbarians.
3. I would actively recruit spies and reward them handsomly
for successful and fruitful information leading to
terrorists and or organizations funding terrorism. 4. I would call Ted Kennedy out for the punk he is. GWB is
more concerned about hurling compliments at Clinton than
calling out his detractors who will hate him regardless.
5. I would not apologize for Abu Grabih. I would announce
that we would do whatever it takes to eradicate the
Islamic menace and its ability to wage terrorism.

This conversation is descending into the absurd...

I'm not crediting the emperor with anything...

You used Japan as an object lesson to what we should do in Iraq.

There are a few of us on this thread trying to tell you that your understanding of what happen in Japan is not true.

We are also trying to tell you that without the emperor, the military would have kept fighting.

And this statement: with only a few months pause we could've continued producing nuclear weapons en masse. is probably the silliest thing I've read today.

I know which goal each of the two manifestations of Chicken Little that folks are on. Nevertheless, both types of Chicken Littles are behaving precisely the way the terrorists hope they will.
