Go to a Jag meet in your area and meet some owners. You'll hear all kinds of stories but most claim reliability. I've been told my engine and drivetrain will never die. It's lockhead loaded; I don't feel speed bumps. It's reliable, too. One thing I think that turns mechanics off is the wiring diagram is about 12 pages long.

The car is wicked complicated, but I love mine. It's the biggest one ever made (non-limo) and corners like all the sports cars I've ever had and though slow off the line, it screams.

Every mecvhanic I've spoken to about them says that they aren't worth the trouble.
John has doen repeated crankshaft bearing jobs on three vehicles so far,and he doesn't do shoddy work.
Maybe you're lucky and got one that is good, like the guys I know that swear by Fords when I haven't met a Ford yet that was worth my time?
(EVERY Ford I've run into has been a 500+ dollar repair twice a week deal, and that was when brand new. Since then, I've refused to even touch a Ford.)
