They are the quintessential first wave Baby Boomers. My sister and her husband are exactly their age and are exactly like them. A certain (and very large) group of Boomers deserve Clinton - he is exactly what they are, right down to idioms and facial expressions.

Utter rubbish. In fact, it's complete bullshi$.

I am their age; all my friends are that age; not ONE person I know have anything close to their value system!

I'm about the same age too -- more useful to adopt the distinction (Tyrrell's) between the coat-and-tie radicals, who protested Vietnam, etc., etc. but not to the extent it would ruin their "political viability", and (I think) the penny-loafer conservatives; he sees these battle lines drawn in the 60s, 70s as continuing -- and strengthening into the present.

You and the boomer on FR are excpetions to the rule, at least a social force. see my prior post.

Boomers as a group and as a type are not conservative, not in the sense that we refer to them in this culture.
