and I reaaly like his answer regarding being offered Bin laden by the sudanese.

Clinton "as far as I know there is no evidence to prove it" classic clinton non denial denial.

Hey bill give Monsoor Ijaz a ring he will provide plenty.

Oh and regarding your state funeral Dan already got planned for you. I can see the caisson procession now. It will start in beverly hills and you will lie in state in Larry Flynts hustler magazine lobby.

We can be assured TopGun whatever was a garden variety troll. DNC plants are generally more difficult to spot, although most of them aren't too bright either.

I am a Boomer too. How could my comments cause "inter-generational friction." I cannot make sense out of your remark about 45. Anyone that is in there early forties is just on the very last edge of being a boomer. When we take about Boomers' we are generally talking about people in their 50's. Are you saying that the average age of congress or the people with real power are 45? Of course they are not, they are in their fifties or sixties, particulalry in the Senate. The reason why there are few vets in congress is that they are not indicative of the the boomer generation. It is not because they are under 45. In the corridors of power, few reach the upper offices in their mid-forties

The influence of the left on the boomers is indicated by the fact that the Democrats made the generation shift to power in the early nineties while the conservative side of the Boomer generation made the shift later.

The sad fact is that the establishment is chuck full of liberal boomers and they have come to charterize the our generation at this point, not the conservative side.

And generations, like nations, have a character, it does not apply to every member of it, of course, but it is quite possible - and even necessary - to characterize groups, and that includes generations. We can with some accuracy describe the Victorians as opposed to their "surrounding generations. History will do the same to our generation, like it or not.

And given the problems that our generation has cause, I should not be surprised to find generatio friction, here or elsewhere, and things will tend more toward this as we retire. THat is why this election is so important (or one of the reasons) if Bush can win and we can "finish the Regan Revolution," so to speak, or reverberation through American history and who we are judged by those that come after us will be radically different than if there were a reemergence of the left and they should shape our future.

The press never fawned over Reagan. They hated his guts. Clinton could have been Joe Stalin and the media would have shiled for him because of ideology.

As for Carter, the media didn't give him half the crap they would have given a Republican who was bringing down the country in flames, and the gentle criticism they did give him was with the understanding that they could elect an even more liberal president, Ted Kennedy.

I took a very brief detour into Hippiedom, CD, primarily to do the rebellious thing after being a Young Republican during high school. Do you suppose it's because I just made it under the wire for your second round of Boomers? :o)

I believe the general age group for Baby Boomer's is between 1942 to 1962. Now the start year may be a little off by a year or two. But that is the approximate date time.

You now, I think we are just going to have to agree to disagree on much of this.

While I agree that there is a generational character, I do not think that attributing all ills to our generation is helpful, and it DOES provide fuelfor those who wish to profit over intergenerational warfare. Read some of tthe Gen X threads if you don't think this is true.

In New York and California, I am sure it is true that there are mostly liberals in the Boomer generation. In MY state, Indiana, this is not the case. In much of the south and southwest it would also be hard to characterize Boomers as liberals.

Plus, people change as they get older. Two of my sisters have crossed parties, much as I did in 1980. I doubt they return to the folds of the DNC; they are too disgusted with the lack of responsibility and anti-Americanism of the current liberals.

However, enough of this discussion. You have your point of view, and I have mine. No point in going over the same ground and wasting bandwidth.

The press ridiculed Reagan all during his Presidency. The used the same derisive adjectives about Reagan that they use with Bush. Cowboy, stupid, oaf, disengaged, lazy, et. They tried to continue this meme after he died, but couldn't quite get away with it. They were apoplectic with having to cover our great President because that's what we wanted. As Americans, we know what Reagan did as do the Eastern European countries. Just ask Lech.

We he handed the reins over to Bush, things were doing great.

Please check the stock market and the economy. The market started coming apart in March of 2000. The day of the Microsoft verdict was the top. The swing down was one of the worst ever. Huge job losses were a result. Budget troubles and asset losses occurred everywhere. Two to three years of trouble started then.

Bush was not in office yet. They ran the economy in the ditch.

Most of the work in preparation for 911 was done while Clintoon was still in there. You must have been kidding.
