US President Bush has, once again, suspended the relocation of the American embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Israel's capital, Jerusalem.
Bush did this by asserting that US national security will be harmed if he implements the US law requiring the move. Bushs refusal to take concrete measures recognizing Jerusalem as Israels capital has caused some to question the US Presidents reputation as a friend of Israel.
Congress overwhelmingly approved the Jerusalem Embassy Relocation Act in 1995, mandating that the US Embassy be moved from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem by May 1999 and that the US recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital.
During the 2000 election campaign Bush pledged that if he was elected, he would "begin the process" of moving the embassy to Jerusalem on his "first day in office." After nearly four years, there is no evidence that he has begun that process.
In a memorandum to the Secretary of State on Tuesday, Bush wrote that he has determined it is necessity to suspend the transfer of the embassy for six months in order "to protect the national security interests" of the US. "My Administration remains committed to beginning the process of moving our embassy to Jerusalem," his memorandum said.
Former US President Bill Clinton, who promised in both of his presidential campaigns to move the embassy, shied away from implementation, signing successive six-month security waivers.
After the failed Camp David talks in July 2000 - Clinton suggested in an interview with Israeli television that he was considering moving the US embassy to Jerusalem.
In reaction, Hezbullah terror chief, Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah threatened that if the US moved its embassy, the Arabs would "turn your embassy into rubble and return your diplomats in coffins."
The Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) has sharply criticized the continued failure to implement the Embassy Relocation Act, demanding to know how the recognition of Israels capital would harm US national security.
"The failure to recognize Jerusalem is a violation of US law and a blatant surrender to Arab terrorist threats, ZOA National President Morton A. Klein said. At a time when America is engaged in a life-or-death struggle with terrorists worldwide, it is especially important to implement US law on Jerusalem and thereby send a message to terrorists everywhere that America will not capitulate to their blackmail. It is President Bush's refusal to move the embassy which could undermine national security because it encourages terrorists to believe that threats and violence will force the US to change its policies."
In 1980 Israel passed a basic law claiming Jerusalem as the Jewish States "eternal, indivisible capital," but only two countries, Costa Rica and El Salvador, maintain their embassies in Jerusalem.
Your membership card is on the way.
Think about it, American's openly disloyal to America, what would be the typical Freeper reaction.
I hope you are right, that this decision is a calm logical deliberate decision of first things first.
Because if you aren't right, I'd hate to thing that Costa Rica and El Salvadore have more guts than we have.
Don't leave out the International Christian Embassy, Jerusalem.

Seems to me it was Harrowup spamming threads here and at another forum, accusing multiple freepers by name of supporting being Jewish terrorist thugs, cretinous Klansman, destroying Freerepulic with their posts. Lot's of things you can do about that. Call the FBI. Make your complaint to FR management, support it with facts (oops, blows your fantasy)> You took the Koward's way, sliming Freepers where you thoght no one was looking.
As to listening to you, posting from fantasyland, don't waste my time, Klown, I've no interest in speaking with FR's KretainousKowardlyKlown.

I've been a member of Free Republic since May 1998 and am not a Freeper. I am a Liberal who campaigned for Truman and Stevenson before my military obligations forced me to terminate political activity. Bill Clinton was a disgrace to his country and his party. I have enjoyed his fall from grace reported at Free Republic.
If your nickname says anything about you then I can't call you a chimp, just a chump.
It's Sunday, which hat you wearing today, Doctor, Lawyer, Indian Chief?
Rotfl. A loon, a cartoon posing as an associate of Truman while posting the most incoherent and foaming stupidity on FR, LP, Smirkingchimp.... probably on the international answer boards too ;).
Good post! I agree with ypu 100%
ypu=you.
There are other eloquent and notable radical Jew loving Zionist bootlickers around here besides the few already mentioned.
Can't let the JDL/ADL "bullies" hog all the attention, now can we?

In my opinion, Bush moving the embassy to Jerusalem today would accomplish an incredible amount of good, predictions of doom and bloodshed notwithstanding. Many Middle East experts I've been reading lately still don't think the West realizes we are in a war on a scale that demands a complete victory as with the Japanese and the Germans. If the US moved the embassy to Jerusalem today, it would send a message to the elements of Jihadistan America will not be bullied and coerced into retreat and timidity in the face of this enemy we corporately face with Israel.
Nonetheless, being familiar with the current Bush doctrine as it pertains to the war on terror, I will certainly stand by at this point.
George W. Bush has accomplished a hell of a lot in the last four years in dealing with militant Islam. Four more years, he can accomplish a hell of a lot more.

That said, it should be clear to anyone here that the frothing at the mouth attacks on this thread are typical of those whose moral compass is too close to the flux capacitor.
There used to be a gentlemen's agreement and perhaps an unwritten rule that off site spats are best left off-site. However, I assume this spat has more to do with a thread which was pulled because of the obscene nature of the attacks a week ago.
Once again, given the tenor of the noise here by the Kahane bunch it should be clear who pushed the discussion into the benevolent bin of bombast.
I do not expect my more liberal views on the State of Israel to be welcomed here, but I will always insist that those who have no opinion are allowed to hear that the majority of Israeli citizens do not support the radical Zionist agenda.
I will repeat what my opinion has been and will always be that Israel withdraw from the settlements, return the captured territories to the United Nations and let them screw it up again, and then allow the Palestinian State to have space in Jerusalem for its Capitol on a short leash. They misbehave they get booted into the gutter.
I am positive the Palestinians will screw up but perhaps then we can openly allow the Israelis to do what they want to do. What ever that is may not be perfect and it may not be exactly what I would like but it will be what the citizens of Israel want and that is the way it should be.
Finally, if anyone wants to have a civil discussion they can do so, but I have no intention of responding to the irresponsible and juvenile attacks witnessed here for the simple reason that I promised Mr. Robinson that I would not use Free Republic to take names and kick butt. Anyone wants to take a whack at me at Liberty Post may do so, but I will remind them that LP currently has a keener appreciation of the use of the synomym for Clymers.

--- much insane verbiage snipped ---
I have always championed the use of nuclear weapons as an apprpriate response to wise-guys simply because some day they're going to get it together and use it on us. The next time some damn zealot screams Allah Akbar I say shove a p32 up his ass and send him home to papa...along with a good chunk of his neighborhood.
Ha! The best part of being a Truman Democrat at my age is being able to point to HST and say...well done, sir...as in well done is the only way the Japs learned a lesson...we should have nuked that damned Nehru too.
Interesting place, that is. Seems like a kind of club with four members or something.
