You are a disgusting excuse for a Christian.

I have not changed my story with the exception that, without going back to look, I said that Father John said "we" could not receive the sacrament anymore. That is the generic we of an 7 year old who was too young to attend church alone without a parent accompanying her.

Your accusations are a disgrace and have made me more upset than I've ever been on Free Republic.

Please do not post to me again. I left this thread permanently and will not be back. COntinue bashing away. It must make your day.

"The priest came the following week to tell my mother none of us could receive the sacrament."

Sounds like your mother could still take you to church, where you could receive Holy Communion. But that's not as dramatic, and you want the Church to look bad, ~~keeping 7-year-olds from the eucharist, keeping Iraqis under Saddam, encouraging priests to abuse children~~ it's a load of ****.

Your accusations are a disgrace and have made me more upset than I've ever been on Free Republic.

You tell a sketchy sob story and attack the Church, and you're appalled someone would call you out -- well, welcome to reality.

Peach.. have followed you're logic though this thread.. Very congent, ladylike, honest, and extremely civil, considering the responses... Very good display of yourself.. not that you should care what I think, but got it anyway... Some responders should be embarrased but no doubt are not.

Roman Catholics ?.... (Eddie Murphy laugh)..

You also changed your story by saying your father "walked out" and THAT was the reason for the denial of the sacraments. Then you changed it to say that it was because of divorce, which you were not clear about in the original story.

Also, even if your mother believed the priest when he said she couldn't receive the sacraments, it didn't mean she was not allowed to attend Mass and take you with her.

By the way, if you were only 7 at the time and were the eldest, none of the children in your family would have even had their First Communion anyway. Back then First Eucharist was received in the 3rd grade at age 8. I suspect there's more to this story than you pose.

Perhaps it is better if you don't post personal stories, if you are so thin-skinned that you perceive skepticism of your ever-changing anecdote as an attack.
