"If we cannot preserve that freedom and safety here as a nation, what business or qualifications do we have trying to export freedom elsewhere in the world?"

I understand only too well, little cowboy. We are losing freedom and safety in this country at an accelerating clip, but most folks are too distracted by the "war on terror" to notice.

Hildebeast said in a speech a couple of years ago that the feds (whom you feel as one with these days) are going to take away Americans' rights using the "salami method": one slice at a time. And so it is coming to pass.

If you think endless war, confiscatory taxation, omnipresent government (reading your mail, shutting down websites critical of the government, gassing peaceful protestors, on and on) are signs of a government that believes in freedom and safety, you must have dreams of being a FEMA worker someday.

"..we are all feds."

Oh, that's priceless.

Yes, it is. It means that I am under oath to defend the Constitution and the Republic for which it describes when the need arises.

Middle Man, in case you weren't aware of it, we are in the process of full mobilization and the wagons are being circled. The WOT is not just overseas, but right here in the heartland. America was infiltrated by thousands of our enemy. Our Constitution and our form of government only works for men of good will, and there are people within and without who are trying to destroy it.

But it is worth preserving at any cost -- the same cost that we paid when our freedoms were established. Every now and then we have to take out the garbage, and we are all garbage men when we have to be.

It's good to want to protest against bad governors and officials or whatever and whoever you want to protest against. All I'm saying is that it might be difficult to protest if the streets are filled with bodies and flowing with blood -- and that's what we are trying to prevent.

If we fail, America will become just another encampment for the enemy who is satisfied with limited skirmishes and an occasional neighborhood bomb ala the middle east. Then what good will your liberties be if you have to practice them in a no-man's land? I don't think we're going to want to buy into tit for tat engagements and it will be necessary to hose down the country.

I'd say first things first. Lay down your posters for a while and start looking for a garbage scoop.
