Either I am incredibly self-deceived, or he really doesn't understand Evangelicals as much as he thinks he does.

The Philadelphia Inquirer, in its May 2 2004 edition, asked two theologians, one Evangelical and the other Catholic, what biblical foundation there was for this doctrine. Neither could find any.
