I wonder who in the Red Cross is making the decisions that make these headlines. And a nice expose on their political affiliations is in order.

Although neither would elaborate (both are deceased and fought in WWII) my father and father-in-law never had a positive word to say about the Red Cross.

How soon the public has forgotten the donations that were solicited specifically for, but never went to the families of those murdered in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack in OUR country !

I will not forget this travesty, regardless of the rationalizations used by Red Cross hierarchy for retaining donations earmarked exclusively for the aforementioned families. Nor will I forget the sight of the Red Cross in the forefront, selling coffee etc. to emergency workers while the Salvation Army worked humbly in the background, without fanfare, GIVING AWAY any items they had to those in need.

Throughout my life, the level of my charitable contributions has steadily increased, but more importantly, the organizations that receive those contributions have been thoroughly researched to ensure (as best I can) that my charitable dollars are not misused or wasted.
